parts required fo fix hyd pump?

Postby 64/67lo-boy » Sun Apr 06, 2014 8:29 am

I was wondering what parts are needed for fixing the seals on the hydrolic pump. Leaks in to crankcase. Can this be fixed with O rings and gasket material or do i need to purchase a kit?
Like to have materials on hand for Va CubFest.

the pump could have a oring or a seal on the shaft, if it needs a seal you will need a kit, you can check but I do not think they sell the seal separate, the oring type can be had

The shaft seal (o-ring) is 1/2 X 11/16 X 3/32 #112.

Be sure to get one made of Buna-N to resist hydraulic oil.

You may want to have gaskets for both ends in case one gets torn or needs replaced. TM is an easy place to get them from. The gasket material they are made of is a lot stiffer (maybe because of the pressure involved) than the gasket material normally used. I've never looked for it myself.
