Valspar paint

Postby danmcdonald » Thu Apr 11, 2013 8:38 am

I have a 1970 IH154 the tractor is original and in very nice shape. I need to paint a few small parts on it but not the hole tractor as it is really nice. I want to use Valspar paint in a spray can. What are the color names or numbers for the yellow and off white? Thanks

DONT BOTHER WITH VALSPAR!!!!! They don't make a color that actually matches. Go to a Cub Cadet or Case IH dealer and ask for Federal Yellow and IH 935 White from a 1970s Cub Cadet/Lo boy. It's the only thing that will come close and it will probably not match what you have just because of 40-years of fading, but it will be close and the finish will be close to what you expect. The Valspar paint sucks!!!

Yep, like Bill says. I did use some CC federal yellow and I thought the CaseIH paint was better.
