Re: 3-point hitch install on a 184
To get you started, here's a pic of mine with stock 3 pt.
The silver hyd pump is for the FEL.
Good luck finding one. The only ones that I have seen were $400-600.

Thanks for the pic. I've had trouble just finding a good pic to go by and yeah, everything ive found seems pretty expensive.
If i had dimensions i could make one. I have access to welders and metal for the basics. Thanks again. Kelly

Re: 3-point hitch install on a 184
FordyFord's picture shows a second hydraulic pump being driven from his PTO for his front end loader. He has a mule drive on the bottom of his tractor, but it doesn't appear to have been used since the paint.
Yours will probably not have the second hydraulic pump if you don't also have a front end loader.
There is no way to drive each pulley independantly. It's one single PTO.
Some people do have a hydraulic selector valve that allows you to select which cylinder to activate (middle rockshaft vs. 3-Point). If you have this option, it will be a small handle in the tunnel cover below the key. There is a knockout to add this option. Without it, both cylinders operate at the same time. The one with the heavier load moves last.

Kelly,
You should really look through the parts manual, available free on line at www.cubcadet.com. Just go to Parts, and type in model 184 to bring up the fully illustrated parts breakdown for the whole tractor and 3-point system. There's a lot more to it than just the lift arms. There is a separate hydraulic cylinder, connections to the belly-mounted cylinder, a selector valve between the two, etc. It would be well worth your time to find one made for the lo-boy, with all the valves, hoses, and cylinder. You're going to pay $$$ for it, but it will actually work well, and the correct setup will allow you to leave on the mower deck and still use 3-point attachments if you want. Sounds silly, but I use my 3-point hitch (different tractor) all the time to lift and move things even though I have the belly mower on it.

Re: 3-point hitch install on a 184
Unfortunately, mine came just as pictured, with no mower. Therefore, no diverter valve to switch between the 3 pt and a mower.
I was fortunate, though, to pick up another 184 Lo Boy with a 3160 mower at a great price,
so now I have TWO to maintain.

I have one one on the 154 that looks just like that one,---has the mower drive pulleys down under there too, (no mower, but front blade cobbled under there that has to come off if I ever get to use the tractor! never started it this year at all!) thanks; sonny
