I think a little JB Weld will fix it!
What do you guys think...$28 for the aftermarket friction disc or $85 for the OEM disc?

154 ClutchAfter a lot of good advice from folks here, lots of PB Blaster, a BFH, and a big piece of hard copper rod I finally got the driveshaft out of my 154. I knew that the throwout bearing was toast but I wasn't sure what the problem with the clutch was....I think I found it.

Re: 154 ClutchThat looks quite familiar, except the new ones from the dealer have crappy rivets.
Get the disc from HamiltonBobsCubs and you should get back in the field quickly. 184 w/ Creeper & 3-Point

Re: 154 ClutchI agrees, get a disc from Bob and you'll be be back in good shape.
Re: 154 ClutchThe clutch cracked like that for a reason. Your new clutch disc may have the same fate if the source of the problem is not fixed. However, Hamilton Bob has good prices on clutch discs.
Re: 154 Clutch
According to the PO the throwout bearing was bad for quite some time and my guess is this is the result of putting the tractor into gear without the clutch releasing completely. Karl
Re: 154 ClutchThe break looks like one that comes from a wobble in the driven plate. You may want to check if the driven plate is tight and runs true.
Re: 154 Clutch
Ah..thanks for the info. I know the driveshaft splines are pretty worn but, I will check the driven plate as well. Karl
Re: 154 ClutchWOW!
I took everyone's advice and ordered a new friction disc and driveshaft from Hamilton Bob. I had some questions about my pressure plate so I called before ordering and talked to Joe..he was awesome! Answered my questions and even saved me a few bucks. I then placed my order online and then realized the next morning I had forgotten to order a throttle cable. Called again the next morning and talked to Joe again.."no problem" he added it to my order and told me it would all be shipped by 4pm that day. That was on Thursday....didn't expect to see my parts til Tuesday....holy mackerel they were on my doorstep at 10am this morning (Saturday)!! I am very impressed and will certainly be doing business with Hamilton Bob in the future! Karl
