154 front axle hole

Postby Landreo » Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:59 am

All but one of my numbered series have a cast hole just off center on the bottom of the front axle casting. Any ideas as to what it was used for?

If I understand what you are looking at, the drag link bar for a 222 sickle mower goes through that hole and has a nut on the front side. There is also an "add on" that consists of a plate that rests on the bottom of the axle with two square U bolts that hold it in place.
