Low Boy wiring schematic needed

Hi Folks
Recently got a 154 low boy with start problems and wiring that has been fooled with- no fuse, rewired w poor connects etc- its been slow workin on it as its in the windy open and we still have snow on the ground
Went over it as best I could and renewed poor terminals [ ammeter does not work] an old owner says it wont charge -
Got it turning over pretty briskly now anyway
added a snowmobile muffler in a fit of optimism
The rotor tip was busted off so soldered an extension on
One of the regulator relays looks burnt or run real hot- found that regulator was not screwed down to generator - fixed that ground anyway
can get it going with some difficulty if I jump 12 v to the dist plus side
changed plugs, installed fuel filter
carb seems to flood real easy- when choked
PROBLEM-so would like to install fuse but where? and also trace wiring but the above electrical 'manual' page wont load for me and I am not sure what the prefixes mean
I have the pictorial picture in manual but not too sure of the 'to's and 'from's so schematic may help
nice old tractor and I am exited about it though it has not moved a foot this last month
thanks and appreciate your advice

I guess you are using FireFox. Try opening the manual in either IE or Opera or Google Chrome and it should open for you. The 154 Owner's Manual .... the TC-131 Parts Catalog Revision 8 should also be of use.

Try this link for a schematic:
http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/I&T%20IH-50%20Shop%20Manuals/International%20Cub%20154%20Lo-boy/IH-38%201974%20Edition%20Complete/IH-38%201974%20Edition%20Complete.htm
pages 8,9

The pictoral that Rudi posted is also helpful since all the wires look the same after 40 years.

By , you guys are sure thorough!
Thanks
I checked the old corroded connections and assembled the rats nest wiring under the dash so going to try and fire it up tommorrow as the previous owner wants it off the neighbours shed area
I will hopefully get it home a mile away and can trace wires at my leisure with your schematics.
I ohmed the connections , tightened bolts and grounds so hopefully she is a go. The wires are pretty ratty and dark corroded- there is half a big push connect that had melted together- ground it open and secured it some and one tri connect was very poor so cleaned it up and reconnected
There is no fuse and the ammeter shows power on both sides in off key position
will keep you posted and thanks again!

so we did some rewiring and fixing and got it running though seems tardy and too rich- going to check the points and gap
anyway it is mobile and has got some real power though I am stalling it as never driven this kinda machine- sure has low gears
has a bucket and getting used to that
the trans sounds pretty noisy and looks like it is leaking- still trying to fuigure out how to check the levels
we live on a sidehill so it should be real usefull for moving dirt and getting firewood with an old trailer

You are going to wonder how you ever did without that Cub. All the models of Cubs are pretty useful. The nice thing about the numbered series is that they are low which keeps them more or less vertical on slopes where the standard might become a tad light at times. After 10 years of owning my Cubs, I cannot imagine not having them. Many of us no doubt feel the same way judging by the number who are members of the Multiple Cub Club

Looking fwd to using the machine- busy getting damaged a pole and tarp shelter reconstructed to keep it out of the weather- [lotsa rain here] coming along and having great fun- havent rid my old Titan 500 yet so must be happy
We have around 4 acres here that will be the playground , clearing , fencing, getting fire wood, building a creek bridge, digging and moving obstructions so we can use the land
Also fixing up an old datsun homemade trailer for it. I want to afix a tool box and somehow ablity to carry powrsaw , drill steel bar, shovel ,axe etc on the tractor as well- tired of running back to the house for tools
Boy does it have a low gear! Better than many years ago when i used our old 56 chev to pull stumps with a block!

Are you sure that you don't have the creeper engaged?
Look for a knob by your left calf (when seated on tractor). If the knob is pulled out, then a creeper is engaged (half-groundspeed). If the knob is pushed in, then the creeper is not engaged. If there is no knob at all, then the tractor may not have the creeper option at all (or the knob is missing and the creeper is still engaged).

thanks for that outdoors
Yes, I found the rod that changes speed and jacked around with it- works- I added a rubber grabber handle from powersaw start cord assmbly
the previous owner did little maintenance
He put a spin ball on the steering wheel to make up for the loose nut on steering knuckle that I tightened up!

thank you for posting this info
the 185 had an ''epic failure''
took out the starter/gen. and voltage regulator + 1 wire.

waiting for the new parts to arrive [with new smoke].

24+'' of snow coming and the IH is DOA till the parts get here
