154 engine almost ready for test run

Postby JGtools » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:53 pm

I have the engine in the frame, would like to test run engine, without any body parts, including gas tank . I have a 2 gallon lawn mower gas tank on a 5 ft stand, with a in line filter that I will use for fuel supply. what would be a safe way to jump the starter /gen to turn over engine , Thanks,Jim

With no regulator i would touch the starter stud on the S/G to turn it over and put a jumper wire on the ign coil. Did you prime the oil system first? Is it a new pump thats bone dry? It needs priming first.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
