Is your pilot bearing good and tight?----something is loose there, or not lined up straight!---also is the clutch pack itself got the proper tension on the disks?---You have worn outer bell and the only replacement would be from a junkyard, IF you can find a good one!!---also do you have shims under your pto bracket? --this will affect the pto alignment too!
Last cure would be to weld up the gouges and grind them square again! (a temporary band aid fix,--but may be the cheapest other than a lot of time spent taking it all apart to weld/grind, and re-assemble ) thanks; sonny

The wear marks in the PTO drum is from hitting stuff with the mower/attachments. The wear is from the shock as the clutch plates give/slip. Somethings gotta give or it will snap.

The uneven wear and the slots not being lined up with the clutch plate discs
is from the shaft movement. Are the drum set screws tight on the shaft? I have seen the drum move on the drive
shaft from not being tight enough.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Bill, I will check the drum set screws, I will make sure they are tight if they are loose. Should I try and weld the grooves in the drum, and grind flat? or try use as is. can I get at the set screw without removing anything, from the picture I have,it looks like it is located under the drum area, thanks for helping,Jim
