Re: 154 value?
To me around $400 to $500 max if its complete and non running. Maybe even less if its a parts tractor and can't be fixed that easily.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Re: 154 value?
Any tractor is worth what the buyer is willing to pay. That can benefit or hurt you as the seller. Also, if you are in a rush to sell that can hurt.
To me, a non-running tractor is only as good as its parts. You can't prove that any of the tractor is healthy without it running.
The 3-point hitch should be worth $250-$375 alone and a good factory grill & fiberglass
If the sheet metal is straight and the tractor is complete, then you have another $100-$200 in value. A rust bucket would be less.
A tractor without accessories also limits its value. A mower deck or snowplow gives the tractor a job it can accomplish for the buyer.
Having the engine able to turn over can tell you a lot more - given a compression test & verifying that the transmission can move the tractor.
It's really hard to sell a non-running tractor. The buyer just doesn't know what they are getting.

8.72 cents per pound at the scales. 600 is too much. It is literally worth what it will weigh out if it doesn't start and run. My opinion only.

Re: 154 value?
It depends on if it will run too, then its worth at least $3,500 with the 3pt/blade/mower for your $600 investment there is still room for profit. I'd offer him $300 first then look it over more and show him 4 new $100 dollar bills as your final offer. If it won't run you can part it out on sleezebay..... If it just needs a few parts to make it run you can get them on ebay too and there's tires on rims on ebay too.

Re: 154 value?
Well,-----my 185 ran excellent, had new battery, when I got STUCK with it, --got to use it 3 hours ,--had to totaly re-make the front of the mower deck, PO used it as a D-11 Cat dozer,---has bad trans/hyd leak, trans. fluid was empty when they put it on the auction, so leak didnt show ,most everything looked good on it, --pto clutch scattered after 3 hours use,-- main clutch shaft splines almost gone ., etc.,---so looks can be deceiving too!
It has 1 bull of an engine in it! VERY strong runner, that I need to get modified to fit my 49 regular cub! thanks; sonny
