Lo-Boy info required

Postby dickcub50 » Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:17 pm

I have found a Lo-Boy serial # 17306J (1963 ? ) What are the main things
to look for ? The tractor has not been run in the past 10 years. Sheet metal,
grill straight, tires old cracked but hold air. Hook was repainted so no stripe
or model #. Is it a 154 ? I plan to go try to start it on Thursday. Have aux fuel
tank an assortment of fluids and a battery. With luck it will fire up. the price
is right, low compared to on line adds.
What are the main problem areas with this model ? What should I be looking
closely for?
There is a mount for a sickle bar mower, but no bar. First impression was
other than being really dusty and dirty its in relitively good shape. It has
been in a shed out of the weather. The price is low compared with some
online adds.

Well, I guess I misread that.

I have some of the manuals and stuff on the 154 available on the server Cub-154 Lo-Boy. The Owner's Manual and the TC-131 Parts Catalog Revision 8.

I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for all the info. We got it hashed out
in the Cub forum. It's a 1963 square nose.
