Rick has been building a lot of components for the older cubs, but I am curious if some of these work or are helpful with the numbered series.
I am tired of the rear seal leaking. Is the KubCraft rear seal compatible with the 184?
Is there a danger of the ear cracking on a 184? Some have mentioned this to be an issue with early cubs, but I want to know if this is also applicable to the numbered series tractors.
If this is a concern, does the broken ear support fit the 184?
Hopefully Rick will chime in when he has time. I'd like to hear others opinions also.

I am not Ri8ck, but yes the sela holder will fit, the engine block is the same for both. The ear breaking on the numbered series lowboys is not a problem, because the engine sets in a frame rather than the engine providing the support.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Rick's seal fix will work just fine on a 184, it's the same basic engine.
Cracked engine ears should not be a concern on the number series tractors, since they have a frame rail, that the engine is mounted to. Much less stress is transferred to the engine block. Rick's supports might fit, if they clear the frame, but you don't really need them.

Re: KubCraft Components for the numbered Series?
From what i have seen on the really abused 154's, I have seen the cracked frames(center section were the bends are on both sides), to cracked engine supports and i think there was a cracked ear on the engine too.(the right rear ear was cracked). This machine surely must have seen some really heavy twisting and abuse to make it crack this bad. It didn't have a 3pt hitch too. This was all on one 154 too. It was the worst 154 i have ever seen so far.
Think about it the front axle has its swing limits and once you hit the positive stop on the up limit on either side, the frame starts to twist from end to end causing the middle section were it flares out from narrow to wide to be one of the weakest points in the design. This machine does have its limitations as any tractor does with the front axle swing. As with any tractor the off camber situations can be risky and costly to human life and the machine.

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
