We have purchased two 184' and the wiring on one is butchered and needs work. Are their complete or partial wiring harnesses available? The 2cnd 184 has prob. with pto not engaging, and have tried a new electrical switch but no response. Checked the two fuses on dash and are ok. Any magic solutions or possibility of a mgnetic clutch probs.? Would much appreciate any helpful advice/solutions. I do have manuals to follow step by step as required, but hoping for simple solutions first?? Thanks in advance.

Try Porch electric for a wiring harness. I suspect your pto problem is the clutch.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Re: Two Cub loboy 184's electrical probs.
It appears to be in the pto clutch, since the air gap is .017" and i can visually see the electric clutch engage when the switch is turned on and the clutch activates, but does not turn the pto shaft, I suppose this means a removal and dis assembly of the pto clutch and do you have ant ideas/suggestions on what I will possibly need to resolve this prob. I hear that these clutches are pricey to replace??
Thank You, for your reply and suggestion on the wiring harness.

Charles - it is difficult to say what you will find until you get into the clutch. They are pricey but I understand that there are some aftermarket replacements that are less costly. I never looked into them though.

Bigdog,
Thanks for the responses. Do you have any suggestions on where to look for after market suppliers?

You might start with Bates Corporation.
