I was looking at my cub cadet rear rims and my int154 16" rear rims today and noticed that the cadet has the same wheel weight bolt pattern as my 16" int154 rear rims has. Did IH manufacture larger heavier rear wheel weights for the int154 cub? Or do we have to use the cadet rear wheel weights with the 16" rear rims? Its kind of silly if they didn't because how many cadet rear wheel weights do we have to add to get some decent weight on the rear wheels? I figure 5 or 6 on each side to get 100lbs or so on the 13.6x16 turf tires.
I wonder how hard it would be to manufacture some heavy rear wheel weights out of cement for my int154 cub with rebar and using pvc pipe for the thru holes to attach them.
I'm just thinking if we were going to use the 13,6x16 turf tires to plow snow with we need wheel weights to plant them for more traction with tire chains. I'm just weighing another option with 16" rear rim wheel weights.

How about putting water in the tires?

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
I just went to; www.tractorsmart.com/Farm_Tractor_Liqui ... allast.htm
And found out with liquid in the 13,6x24's i can bring up the weight to 317lbs per tire using 38 gallons of liquid. Thats not too shabby?

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
I have 13.5-16.1 turfs on on of my 154's. Although in the chart above they don't give this tire size's number with respect to the weight of water added, I would imagine it would be about 200# of fluid per tire. Then add your weight, say another 200# and your up to 600. I think I remember you saying you have a 3 point hitch, if so hook up a box blade for a little more weight and function and you've got around 800-900 lbs added on. It doesn't take long to put some weight on without having to modify stuff and overload the machine and break something. The bonus of water is it won't add to the load on the clutch and clutch brake (I don't think, someone correct me if I'm wrong) but will still give you weight for traction.

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
I think the 317lbs per tire is the way to go thats enough weight to plant the tires chains on the bigger tires. I would think that 13.6 ag's would be really close to 13.6 turf tires in diameter and size.

They made weights for the rear fat rims- you don't see many though.

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
I was thinking if i need to make them some sonit tube for the outside dimention and some PVC for the inside hole with 4 pipes for the thru holes for the bolts, then filling it with cement would work? Of course a piece of PVC for the valve stem clearance would work too. (half circle)

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
The parts manual I have for the 154/185/174, TC 131 Revision No. 19 issued 12-80, does not show a wheel weight just for the 16" wheel. It list the same front weight as the Farmall Cub, P/N 351 371 R1, the same split front weight (inside mounted) as the Cub, P/N 368 838 R1, and the same rear wheel weight as the Cub, P/N 351 374 R1. The only thing listed for high flotation wheel is the wheel spacer, P/N 530 644 R94 for the spacers, bolts and lock washers, or 530 645 R2 for just the spacer. No wheel weight.

Re: Int154 loboy rear wheel weights
Funny or weird i purchased a package deal of 3 sets of wheel weights from ebay not too long ago and one set is a split set. I thought they were for the inside of the farmall cub front wheels but i guess they fit both.
