154 deck out of service

Postby iowaboy77 » Tue Aug 05, 2008 12:58 pm

I've been battling deck spindles this summer. The cub has only mowed our place twice this year. The spindle threw the key and the whole thing came apart. It chucked the spindle, cup, and blade about 50 yards. I found the bottom bearing about 40 feet in the opposite direction. The pulley obliterated the shroud. Talk about scary. I'm having problems rebuilding it, so I dont know whats going to happen. My wife is upset that we can't mow when we want, so I dove in and bought a new Agco st22a today. Pricey, but it comes with a loader and tiller, etc, things I needed anyway.

The cub has been limited to storm damage removal and dragging logs this year. I can tell it really wants to mow again though...

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
