Postby lostsole69 » Sun Jul 02, 2023 8:43 am

I removed the PTO clutch for a rebuild after installing new plates and disks I find with no shims in it I cant get the snap ring on with out compressing the clutch pack then there is no play for disengagement? Thank you for your help

I had the same issue when i rebuilt by 185 PTO clutch. Spoke with Bob of Hamilton Bob's and he told me i had a non-factory shim someone had installed. He was exactly right. The shim was much thicker than the correct shims. When i removed this thick shim i was able to get the proper clearance. My clutch works awesome now.
