My mowing deck is an international (no chains). Occasionally I wish it was floating. The 154 Manual reads that the hydraulic lever has 4 positions.
up / nothing(center) / down / float.
Mine does not have a float. After looking at the mechanism, I'm wondering if maybe I'm missing something? Or someone swapped the valve out? I've attached a picture, if something looks off (or missing), please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: No Float on the deck
You are missing the detent plate which attaches to a nut that is missing out of that rusted hole. Here is a view from the bottom looking upwards.
The short bar slides into the detent slot. The detent bar with the slot has another slot where the bolt is located so the bar can be adjusted forwards or backwards.
The pedestal should have a nut welded where you have a rusted hole.

Thanks for the pics! I should be able to fabalcob something! The rusty hole and the extra arm on the shifter had me convinced it was missing something, but the unknown had my mind wondering.

Re: No Float on the deck
I didn't even know there was a float position. ..I just adjusted as the terrain was different. It usually stayed there until another touch to the lever.
