Re: [185] Gear Box lubrication location
I was itching to put heavier 85+ wt. in the finals. I topped it with Hy-tran or equivalent. I heard gear noise but it was normal gear noise when the engine isn't loud at all. When I read a few things here, it became more clear. The bearings are sealed or open. There are seals but over time, they leak. So the 85-120 oil would leak back into the entire transmission and hydraulics.

There is a possible adjustment to bearings. Without adjustment the gears don't mesh correctly. Without the proper mesh, the tractor is toast or sold eventually. This is going on. It is too bad sometimes how machines work to the very end ..and break. Coulda shoulda checked bearing run out. Didn't. Will always be a new tractor. Isn't the same.
