I had my int154 apart that needed a clutch. Not only are the driveshafts different so are the pto assembly lengthwise are different too. You can’t swapout the pto’s between the different year tractors.
As Gomer Pyle surprise, surprise, surprise.

Re: Did you notice?
It is sort of nuts and confusing. I think that was why they were big on part # s. I looked up my 1971 Lo Boy and it was over the hump. I'm not saying the earlier designs are worse . Different times, different attachments.

Re: Did you notice?
From what I've gathered on here, there is a cutoff somewhere around 1971. The earlier ones had the PTO pulleys on the driveshaft and later ones had the pulley on the flywheel. Don't know what drove the change though.

Re: Did you notice?
At the rear the pto/clutch assembly isn’t interchangeable between the two.
On my project 154 the PO rebuilt the engine because of a knock at the rear of the block. The dual pulley on the pto shaft fretted. Just some heads up news.

Re: Did you notice?
I’m thinking the earlier pto with the twin belt pulley they didn’t hold to a tolerance were the dual belt pulley is fastened on the drive shaft. It seems that two pto clutch assemblies are different lengths. I tried to swap two out and it didn’t fit the holes in the frame didn’t line up.
