I’m back. This doesn’t look good. Ipto clutch brake support has obvious wear on it.
I will replace it with part from H-Bobs. Looking at the photo of it there the “hole in mine” has something in his. What is missing? I don’t see any wear on the clutch that this represents. Disc pack possibly rebuilt by p.o.?
I’m seeing this as wore out. What does the ipto brake support, support? What is missing and needed here?
Thanks
Al.

Your brake support looks fine, it is just missing the brake puck which goes in that empty hole. The rear of the clutch pack, that last thick disc, moves backward slightly when disengaged and rubs on the brake puck to stop the pto from spinning. I don't think any of mine actually work and the pto stops fine when the mower is attached. My supports have the brake pucks but I never worried about adjusting them to make them work.

The wear is due to the missing puck. Don't bother replacing the steel. Just replace the puck. They are a serviceable part.

And where would I get this brake puck?

HamiltonBob's (sponsor at the bottom of the page) has them, or a Case/IH dealer if you have one near you.

Ok. Thanks. I’ll check with IH tomorrow.
If the thing stops without the deal working could I just eliminate the brake support?

I have only seen the bracket sold with the puck attached. I don't think the puck is sold separate. The price for the bracket at Hamilton Bobs is reasonable, you can get a piece of brake lining and glue on to your old bracket, or just do without if your PTO stops turning when disengaged.

You can do without it, but it takes a long time between pushing in the clutch and being able to shift without grinding the gears. Seems like you would need to be a very patient person to drive like this. Most people would get impatient and grind or jam the gears.

Als was talking about the PTO brake not the clutch brake.
