Greetings,
I had my 154 w/ 3260 rotary mower in storage the past five years. Prior to putting it in storage I took off a bad Idler on the deck, and unfortunately, I did not take a pic of it before storage. Now, I have the idler, but cannot recall the exact position all the parts need be placed prior to attaching the deck to the hitch.
Also, I noticed a broken spring hanging from the frame and I have no idea what the name of that spring would be for replacement. Plus, I don't know how it attaches either.
I have 3 pics, one of the deck, two of the spring...a close shot and farther shot.
Is there anyone out there who could guide me on how to properly align the idler and the name of the spring and how it attaches? Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, neighbor. I see you have a Lee's Summit zip code; I'm near Lone Jack. Glad to have you here.

After posting another couple posts, try this link or you can get there via the "Quick Link" heading in the top, left portion of the screen, then go to "PDF Manuals". Choose "IH LoBoy Series -- 154, 184, 185" and then select "Attachments". Your mower Owner's manual is under "International 3-spindle Rotary Mowers for 154 Lo-Boy 1-69".
As far as the deck belt goes, looking at your picture, the belt goes over the top (towards front of deck) of the main pulley, then wraps around the bottom (towards rear of deck) idler pulley. The high tension spring goes over the idler bolt stud that attaches the idler arm to the deck. There should be a hole or lug to catch the spring. I'm not sure if the 3260 deck used the same spring as the IH-build Cub Cadet decks (like a 44C or a 50C), but it's worth checking out.
Go to the Case-IH website and do a parts look-up, or call down to Heartland Case-IH dealership, south of Harrisonville at 816.884.2551. Ask for Parts and they'll be able to look up the spring number and order it for you. They can even have it shipped to your house. Or you can shop their price around on the internet.
We have a couple really nice CubFests coming up the first and third weekend in May. Kansas CubFest, May 6th and MidMO CubFest, May 20th.

Spring hanging under the tractor, does the clutch pedal return when depressed?
I have an excuse. CRS.

Of course the spring does not return anything, one end is unattached. Question was on the clutch pedal operation.mgc1191273 wrote:The spring does not return when the clutch pedal is depressed.
If the clutch pedal does not fully snap back when released after being depressed, that's where it belongs.
I have an excuse. CRS.
