I ended my pallet garden experiment. I planted 16 strawberry starts/plants and radish in the pallet.
One eating size radish developed. The other radish only grew to thin spindly starts and never developed further.
I transplanted the pallet strawberries into a small adjacent garden plot. Vegetables and strawberries planted in the garden plot and large containers developed much faster and better than the pallet strawberries.
Not sure what the problem with the pallet garden was. Perhaps it was the top soil purchased for the pallet. Noticed that I needed to water the pallet garden when the soil in the garden plot was satisfactory.
