Gus and the barnyard!

Postby Barnyard » Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:29 am

Gus, the new pup, is getting use to life in the barnyard. Now six months old, he learns more and more as the days go by. I think he will fit in quite well with the others dogs. Just another dog to watch Gary drink his morning coffee at the Bash. :D

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Is that a Border collie or Australian Cattle dog? Looks more like a Border collie….both make good cattle dogs!

We found leaving his food in the crate resulted in spills when he moved around in his sleep. We only put it in there when we first got him so he would get used to going in. This summer he will move permanently to the outdoors with the other Borders.

He is a Border Collie. Two of our other dogs are Borders and the other is mostly a red Border. All of them show good herding instincts. The two older black and white dogs are sisters that are now ten years old. We wanted a puppy to grow up with them to replace them as watch dogs when the older ones pass on. The older dogs do an excellent job of keeping people out so I think he will learn from the best. :D

Bill, I'm really looking forward to meeting Gus. I think that with a training, I can get him to fetch my coffee, probably spill less than I do. He's a handsome dude for sure!

Gary, he will probably sit by the porch and stare at you every morning until I come out like the others do.

Border Collies are by far my favorite dogs of all time. I have known 5 in my lifetime, all weird in their own unique way. Very smart, loyal, and lovable.
