Barnyard stated: I was five when Dad died so we moved off the family farm and into the city.
Barnyard, I know it was a very long time ago, but losing a father or a mother is devastating. The reason I know this, it happened to me. I know your young life was hard but, as it was told to me during some very difficult times… “Your maker will not give you more than you can handle”. Many times I have challenged that quote, but the facts are I made it to Jan.2nd 2014 and I have been blessed with a family.
Barnyard stated: I'd love to have this umbrella.
I had one very similar from one of my Grandfathers tractors. The one I had if I could remember had just one IH symbol on it. Being a young stupid teenager at the time, I didn’t take care of it and put it on top of a well house in a machine shed and forgot to recover it before the farm was sold.
Again, thanks for posting the pictures…you’re so lucky to have them.

That’s the way it was for us and so many farm memories were lost…..good and bad.
