My son gave me a 45 Cal. muzzle loader for my birthday . H&R Huntsman. It is new and never been shot. I don't have an owner's manual for it but have been told I can get a rifle barrel or shotgun barrel for it.
Has anyone tried the new stuff for loading the muzzle loader Pyrodex Pellets ,Sabot, Hornady Bullets. I know nothing about this muzzle loader. Any help would be appreciated or any info . I will try to get a photo of it today and post it .
Thanks Johnny J

I have had several Huntsmans. Yes, you can get a shotgun barrel, but it is a muzzle loading barrel, not for cartridges. They haven't made these for a while.
.You will be told the story of the breech plug blowing out, don't beleave it. Just open carefully in the event of a hang-fire.
IIRC the .45 is a 1:48 twist, a little slow for the sabot, but fine for round ball, or Lee R.E.A.L. bullets.
It should do fine with pellets.
The extendable ram-rod is a little weak, be careful with it.
.The ones I had were very accurate. At the time, Virginia did not allow in-line for hunting, so I sold mine.

I am sure Yogie will chime in after work or late tonight when he gets on the computer. He loves his firepower. :big afro:

Contact H&R. They should give you one. Product liability laws require it, I think.

Johnny, it sounds like you need one of those nice crossbows' and some night vision. Freezer would fill up fast and the only way to get your veggies back. :big afro:

I know, I know, it is not legal, but sometimes thinking of ways for revenge is fun too. LOL

I'm finally making my rounds Johnny,
That looks to be a really nice gun you have there, keep in touch with Va. Mike and he'll start you out right.
I myself stopped muzzleloader hunting when they allowed inline type guns in our area, they're about the same as hunting with rifles.
I've got a bunch of loaders but no inlines so I can't offer much help this time.
