I planted this Silver Queen April 16 no rain for 10 days.I used my 172 runner planter with Richmond Hopper this year for the 1st time and it did great.
I used seed plat # 3042-A.Looks like my Cole planter lost its job.

It's funny how people don't believe me when I tell them to get the water boiling before you pick the corn. Their loss. Corn starts converting sugar to starch as soon as it's picked. You have a beautiful stand of corn that is going to be tasty.

I've taken my share of harassment, for getting the water boiling, before I pick the corn. A friend brought a camp stove, and a pan, and set it up in the garden. After the water was boiling, he bent a cornstalk over, and cooked the corn, before it was picked. (no improvement, that I could detect) He still thought I was crazy, until he heard it, on a garden program, on television.
I won't eat my own corn, if its taken to a family party, because its stale. Ed
