All of our stuff got smoked! 24* plus 35 mph wind which drove the temp down to bout 15* and 32* the next night mild wind---took out taters,grape vines, our new nut trees, big magnolia tree, lilacs, bleeding hearts,tomato plants in the jugs, cucumber plants, all the fruit trees had small fruit set and it dont look good so it is probably gone too!---might be a lean year!cabbage plants look to be ok.---farmers here had corn up and its totally gone too!-----just one of them years that sneek up every now and then!
The seedlings in the earhtboxes look to be ok and I will try to start another flat of trip-l-crop maters in the indoor greenhouse for later planting!---had a few other seeds to start in it, also sweet tater plants need to be started now! thanks; sonny

I am sorry you are having a hard time Mr. Sonny. It was 46 here this morning. We have had cool nights all week. My butter beans have been in the ground for a week today and have stopped sprouting. I hope when it warms back up they will come up.

It looks like my peas have stopped growing also.

Got cold enough it got part of my garden last night too. My lettuce did survive though and it was what I was worried about most, it is almost ready to use.

Frost here this morning. Luckily I don't have much in the ground yet. I would suspect that the early birds got burned this morning. Several local farmers had corn and beans up.

Too early for gardening here but we started picking asparagus two weeks ago and have now froze off three nights and that on top of a frost a week ago that killed the asparagus back. We don't normally start picking until about now but the 80 degree weather three weeks ago brought things on early. The fruit farmers say it is still too early to tell but it doesn't look good. Vern

We squeaked by here too. Corn @ 6" and green beans sprouting. Broccoli. cabbage, potatoes, onions, beets, and sugar peas looking good!

Got one strawberry about ready to pick. Gooseberries should be ready to pick in about 3 weeks.

Garden has been planted and washed out twice. Not sure how much is left to replant.

Probably lost a large number of the last couple years of black walnut seedlings during the two hard freeze nights a couple weeks ago. Seedlings had just started to leaf out when the frost hit. Will have to wait for a couple of months to see if the seedlings releaf out or resprout from their roots.
