Ants

Last year we tried growing peanuts in our raised bed garden. We went to harvest them and found that the ants had eaten them.
Last weekend we planted our garden and since then i have been watching the soil. Already since then I have noticed the ants again.
Does anyone know of a cheap way to get rid of the ants from our soil. I have thought about seven but not sure I really want to put it on the garden since its planted.
Thanks in advance.
Josh

I have ants every year as well. I'm going to try this: http://naturalantkiller.blogspot.com/

Don't know if Borax is less toxic than Seven, but I like the idea of putting the bait in the trap/container and keeping it there versus spreading it all around my garden/house.

Use Sevin liberally and early in the growing season.

dichotomous (sp?) Diatomaceous. earth will work for the ants, but do not put it near flowering plants, it is very deadly to honey bees.

edited to correct my spelling, thanks Don.
