Farmall Cub

I have a strip of ground 3 feet wide by 30 feet long and I'd like to plant June bearing strawberries at one end and everbearing at the other end (meeting in the middle). Will there be any problems due to cross pollination or other concerns I should be aware of?

Any suggested variaties for climate area 5/6?

I have June and everbearing mixed and have noticed no problems.

The seed catalogs have the best value for the money. But, I have had much better luck with the potted plants from the big box stores or local grocery stores. There I can select the containers of growing, healthy looking plants.

Strawberries in the patch are blooming, fresh strawberries in a couple of weeks.

Find a nearby friend/neighbor that has a patch where the plants are getting too thick, (only want 1 plant per square foot for best berries) and get some of their plants that would be adapted to your ground!

I have Gurney giant, (NOT impressed with them at all---no taste or size, just big plants),---Stark giant, they are good tasting and yield good here.----third kind we have and the best all round kind are called Honeoye and are a very good berry.----at one time we also had Ozark Beauty and they are a great berry!---Gurney has these on sale right now as end of season for $3.99 for bundle of 25,(sale ends May 20 or when they run out of stock on hand)! thanks; sonny

Honeoye is what I grow, enjoy, and recommend. Average to big size, great taste, and stores/freezes well.
