The other day i woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. I hit the water by 6am at my favorite spot from shore. I had some new baits to try out. I purchased the Yum Money Minnows. These baits work just like you see on tv when the pro's use them. My old pond that i thought was dried up with fish has come back to life. I was shocked at how many strikes i had. Of course i needed a heavier action rod for more solid hook ups. You have to try this bait it works.

I have found out thru the many years of bass fishing and trial and error that different action rods are needed. I found out that one rod can't do it all.

For Topwater action;
I use a 6'6" heavy action rod with 12 to 14lb test. Mainly because i have lost some really big bass in the thick weeds fishing from shore. (spooks/poppers/frogs)

For Crankbaits;
I use a 6' 6" med/hvy action rod with 8lb to 10lb test. (manns/bomber's)

For the larger Inline spinners/ spinnerbaits;
I use a 6' Lt/med action rod with 8lb test (mepps/hankparker spinnerbaits)

For the smaller inline spinners;
I use a 5' Lt action rod with 6lb test. (mepps/panther martins/joesflies)
