Re: What, no ammo?
I was told last year to start stock-piling ammo for all my firearms; shotguns, rifles, pistols, and revolvers. What do you suppose is the cause for the shortage I have an opinion, but you know what an opinion is, right .....

Probably right. Appears to be center fire ammo. Brought on by rumors about the current administration's plans to limit the average citizens access to firearms and ammunition.Cub-Bud wrote:I have an opinion, but you know what an opinion is, right .
The county I reside in has a population of approximately 12,000 or 13,000. My guess is that there is some where around 30,000 firearms in this one county. Funny thing, with all of those crime commiting, people killing guns around. Serious crime rate is just slightly above non existant.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Unfortunately the current admin. started those rumors by making those statements themselves. Grump

Talking to a local sporting goods dealer, he said problem is not a reduction in ammo, but people hoarding it. he is getting in larger than normal shipments, and they are selling as fast as received.

Re: What, no ammo?
I put away a nice little stockpile of 5.56 and .40 cal 6 months ago. Sure glad I did. Bought 10 hi-cap mags for my Sig. Glock and RRA AR. Anybody's guess right now if there will be another ban on hi-cap mags. They will just be in their wrappers until they replace an old one that fails. I figure if nothing else they will be a better investment than my 401K

Re: What, no ammo?
I'm stocked up on ammo too. But you need toilet paper and food if there is a crisis too. You have to have toilet paper if there's no leaves on the trees, i would pic the wrong leaves anyway.
But there is a rumors thats causing the ammo buying frenzy;
1. Of a 500% ammo tax
2. Serial numbered ammo (bullets and cases are serial numbered registered to you the buyer)
3. No more imported cheap ammo new or surplus.
They did say we had a 2 year grace period to shoot up our old ammo thats not serial numbered.
I can't find any reloading supplies too there's no bullets to be had in any of my calibers thats affordable of course the high priced stuff is there. Luckily i purchased cases of military pulled bullets so i can reload. I just reloaded 6k of 308 win for plinking and target shooting.
The wolf ammo in 223 was just $99 for 1,000 rounds not too long ago now its close to $300.
With new guns my local dealers can't keep any black rifles instock, everything is selling out no matter what it is or were its made.
If you think things are bad now wait till they mention the assualt ban again. The buying frenzy can only get worse.
With the mexican cartel causing trouble in arizona already it may have already started.
If Christ is truely returning I hope its soon before the shtf.

Here is a REALLY good place for ammo! Have bought from them for years with never a problem. They will have ammo even when my distribuitors are out

Its a great place for reloading supplies too. I purchased the military surplus pulled 30cal bullets from them a while back. There sold out of everything now. They also have quick shipping too.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket too.

Everytime we have the ammo prices soar and shortages we switch to shooting the 22's again.

Re: What, no ammo?
Stoped by Wal-Mart yesterday to buy 22 cal. birdshot. I was 3'rd in line. Previous two individuals walked away empty handed - ammo shelves were almost bare. They did have the birdshot.Jim Reid wrote:The salesman at wal-mart said they were selling ammo as fast as they put it on the shelf.i don't shoot as much as i used to but i still have a good supply of reloading components.Jim
