Somebody stole one of my mellons, Honey Dew type, from my back yard.

It wasn't even ripe. Darn kids.

Now that the statute of limitations has long expired. Used to steal watermellons in the fall when I was a kid. I/we always waited until they were ripe and on a cool to very cold night.

Day time temperature is 100 degrees and cools off to 85 after midnight. Nothing like a fresh, unripe, hot mellon.

There is one more mellon in the patch. Guard duty tonight and every night until the mellon is ripe and I pick it or I catch the culprit.

Yep, I have been known to "borrow" a few melons myself. Also, a few peanuts from time to time.

Am I really posting this?

Sonny,
Not to worry. I have 15 acres of peanuts on the property. Now, if you have honeydew melons, that is another worry.

I'll bet your peanuts out yield mine!!!!-----We really don't have proper soil conditions/climate here for them, but 2 years ago they did decent!----I think our season is a little short for them here too!!
I can't grow honeydews for some reason!!----Minnesota midjets and Sugar Babys are about it for us, some times an odd variety will make a few, but not on a consistent basis!!
15 Acres??---WOW!!! -----Can you post some pics of them? What varieties do you plant? thanks; sonny

I will post some pics, Sonny. I actually rent the land to a farmer that plants the peanuts, so I do not know what variety they plant. If I bump into him, I will find out. We had lots of rain so far this season, so the plants are beautiful. Should be a good crop. I'll get pics tomorrow.

Roy sure looks like a lot of peanuts. I love peanuts my wife buys me a can at least once a month and they don't last long. :) :)
Now for watermelons I can take them or leave them. I planted eight hills for Betty (she loves them). I planted sugar babies, they grow very small or at least they do here about twice the size of a softball. We picked one yesterday and it was fair but Betty saud it was great.
