He got another one today. I set a Conibear trap at one hole this afternoon.

My trap is empty. Hope the neighbor has better luck!

Empty, as in sprung or empty, as in still set?

Even when you know there’s one in there, it can take a day or two for hunger and thirst to overcome caution.

Re: 2023 garden season
Extreme drought, we are in. Watered the seedling trees this morning. Horseradish is wilting, water them and tomatoes tonight.
Spring fed low water crossings are just a trickle. Spring fed pool is barely a trickle. Pumped water from the spring fed pool into the tote to water trees. The 12 volt pumps removed water faster from the pool than the spring replenished it.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Amazing what 2 weeks with rain, sun, and heat will do to a garden!

Re: 2023 garden season
We didn't get on the shoreline what you got up there Peter, but we have had enough every few days for 3 weeks to not have to water....and everything is flourishing! Peas and snow peas are done, all the greens are awesome and we are just getting into yellow and green beans. The first tomatoes are a couple weeks away and can't wait. Had a 2 rabbit and a racoon problem here...but not now. I can't do anything about the salt marsh rats.

Re: 2023 garden season
6 1/2 inches of rain here, so far, in July. Double the "normal" amount. Last year we had a drought! Mud in the garden this year. I have some ripe grape tomatoes, but need a boat to pick them!

Re: 2023 garden season
About 3" here yesterday, on top of what we've gotten since mid-June. Grass is green, gardens are flourishing. Still way short of what we got in July 2021 - 26"
We did have a couple of inches of standing water in the corn patch and vegetable garden at noon yesterday but this morning it had already disappeared.
Corn is about 3' tall and tassles are showing.
Picked first good batch of green beans, several yellow and green zucchinis.
Black raspberries are coming in nicely.
Connecticut River is very high for mid-July.

Re: 2023 garden season
Corn just starting to tassle here. Picked several cucumbers. No green beans yet, but soon. Peas are done and frozen. Getting just about the right amount of rain.

Re: 2023 garden season
Yep, peas and snow peas are done and yanked out...and replanted with a second wave of beans. I am planning to replant snow peas in the first part of august for a fall crop. Had the first cherry tomatoes yesterday...zucchini, yellows and cukes are steady
