Me too! I used to have one of those and I really like the looks of the narrow front ones.

I am the second owner on this one. A family friend and his dad bought it new when he graduated from High School, and he ended up drafted to Vietnam 3 months later. The tractor had little use until he got out of the service. We have 4 tractors that he purchased new, including a Cub.

As a youngster growing up my first "job" was a farm hand. The farmer owned a host of older Deere tractors (hand clutch 530,630,730,830) and some "newer" stuff (2510, 4010,4020,4430) and one lonely Farmall - a wide front Super MTA. All were fully restored and beautiful.
The 4020 was a power shift and my favorite green tractor on the farm. Maybe this feature would help you with the shift pattern.

We have 3 IH 720 moldboard plows that we actively use each year.

This 4020 is a Syncro shift. Once the pattern is explained, shifting is easy

Mine's a synchro too...a little futzy if you have to do a lot of shifting.
