Fertilizing sweet corn

Hello everyone,
I would like to know what ratio you use to side dress your sweet corn ?
I was reading somewhere to side dress with (46-0-0)
Some say use ( triple 19 )
And I was told to use (10-30-10)
So I would like to hear wh as t you use and the results, I dont want to burn the corn out, or use to little of fertilizer. I know corn requires alot of nitrogen.

I use triple 19 at six inches and 18 inches, combined with hilling. Works for me.

If you want to get technical or have a lot of corn to do, Purdue University's "Midwest Commercial Vegetable Commercial Growers" has recommendations in lbs. per acre which can be converted to row length . Just remember that the fertilizer numbers on the bag are pounds of N ( or P, K) per 100 lbs. If you have a soil test and the info in the guide you can avoid putting down too little or too much. Bill Hudson will probably weigh in later with more info. John

I use triple 10 or 12---whatever they have in stock. ---corn requires high N rate to produce kernels/ears, so if you are really concerned, go with the 46-0-0 to be on the safe side.
The other stuff is just for plant growth and in corn you want ears and NOT a bunch of heavy fodder!

I till in a grass mulch so I do not add any overall fertilizer. I do sidedress with 46-0-0 when corn is about 6-8 inches high. Nitrogen is unstable and leaches down quite quickly. I will get 23-0-0 the next time since it would be easier to get the right amount, not much, on. Vern

I use triple 12 or 16 at planting. I apply 46 3 or 4 times after it is up. Be careful not to apply too much 46 at a time.

46 scares me, my hopper gate doesn't show the indicator Mark's to good, I have the fiberglass hopper.

I believe you grow a lot more corn than me. I apply my 46 by hand, which would not be practical on a big plot.

I apply my fertilizer by hand, too. But, I do use an Armstrong Cultivator. Most people call it a hoe.

I would be out there for a long time, spreading by hand and using a hoe
