I found this in a shed at my farm. Something my late father bought I suspect. A couple of parts (milk receptacles) are missing. You pour raw milk in a container that sits in the top and it uses centrifugal force to separate cream and skim milk. This model is from the early 1900s.
I listed it but got no takers. If it was in great shape with all the ornate painting, it would be a nice conversation piece in the lobby of a dairy related business, but it’s in average condition so it’s probably of little value.
When I went to Ebay to figure out a value, I was surprised to see 7 pages of cream separators, 95% modern devices. Some hand crank and some electric. From skimming the descriptions it sounds like they are used in poor countries where people own a cow or 2 that they milk for personal use. I can’t see much demand for such a device in the USA. But, it is neat looking with the painted design.

Re: Cream Separator
DeLaval #12. I’m not expecting it to be in high demand, but I am trying to pare down all the stuff my father collected. It may end up in the scrap metal pile, but I’ll reduce the price and list it again this spring. Might be worth $25-$50 to someone.

Re: Cream Separator
If you clean that up real well and find a bowl or planter that fits it well - and advertise it as an antique master......in the proper areas with a little well placed LED soft lighting. I think you'll be surprised at what you get.

Re: Cream Separator
Thanks for the suggestion, but I sold it to another another forum member. I just need to retrieve it from my other place in Wisconsin.
