Where do you buy your sweet potato plants Sonny?

Judging by the prices I've seen, he probably gets them at a bank vault, and has them delivered by armored truck!

That’s kinda what I thought about those sweet potato plants. But man ain’t they good.

Virginia found them on the internet from a commercial grower.---They sell them in lots of 500 per variety at reasonable prices for the large lots.
Georges plant farm , martin, Tenn.---is where she got them.---- tatorman.com is the site name.---They sent us really good plants. ----They had good prices,--She ordered the plants last Dec. to get the Christmas special pricing. thanks; sonny

Been having to water the plants since we planted them. Been dry until today and yesterday, got 2 1/2” of rain.

Dry here, and been trying to carry water to the garden, and man am I beat!!--- Was kinda afraid that this would be one of them years when nothing would grow unless you water,water,water!!!!--- Got a few pix. to post later!--You guys getting any rain??? thanks; sonny

We got another 6/10ths lastnight. We're up to 3 inches and 6/10ths in 2 days. We been dry for several weeks, glad to see the rain.

Edit:emptied the gauge about 8pm and poured another 1” & 1/10th out from today and it’s still raining. Up to 4” & 7/10ths in a little over 2 days with more to come.

I don’t know what’s going to get the garden first dry weather or the deer, I put the spot light on the garden last night 6 deer laying about 10 feet from the electric fence. We have to many of the dang things I keep telling people that we need to start taking out some of the doe but they won’t listen to an old man that has harvested many many deer in is almost 65 years on this earth. I am going to round up a bunch of young kids this year to hunt my place but they have to fill there doe tags before they take a buck unless it’s sure enough a monster I wouldn’t want a kid to miss out on a trophy

That is the best thing you can do. There are too many amateur wildlife biologists that think the secret to good deer is to save all the does. After a while the bucks look like cows but are old enough to draw social security and so inbred their eyes are crossed. We were over-run with deer in the 80s and early 90s because of that reason. My dad finally quit cooperating with the local hunting club yahoos and opened the farm up to hunters that wanted meat rather than horns and it made a huge difference. The emergence of coyotes (don't get me started on that one) while undesirable in the grand scheme of things helped too. Now if we could get rid of the coyotes and the bears.....

I haven’t saw a bear yet here but some other people I know have. I have seen 4 or 5 big cats over the years they say we don’t have so I guess I am a dang liar

Had a big cat sighting on the farm a couple years ago. I don't exactly know what he was, but he wasn't a bobcat.....
A friend caught an glimpse of a big, black cat out in the woods a few years ago. Wildlife Commission will vehemently deny anything like that is around here but you know.....they also insist they had nothing to do with the beavers released around here either!

We’ve had over 5” of rain over the past week and a half but it was so dry it soaked up quick. Was able to cultivate today with no stickiness in red land.

RR sweet corn is up and a small patch of reg sweet corn is up as well.--Peas are doing fair, green beans look good so far.----Have used several thousand gallons of the neighbor's water and still hauling to the gardens.---Today I set up a bigger tanker to get more on each trip! thanks; sonny

That's not a garden, that's a farm! Man, I love digging up our horseradish every November and jarring it up.
