Planting was delayed by too much rain, or I'd have beat you by 3 weeks. Now, 1/10th of an inch, so far, in August!

RR sweet corn ,--1 stalk made several shoots and most have from 2 to 6 ears each.---This stuff is wild to say the least,--- BUT it does have great taste and is tender.

Here is just 1 of the harvest wagons full,--(we had over 20)--(stupid coyotes are destroying the field now and have ruined over 20 more loads)-----can't see them in the dark, so can't shoot them.

Ears waiting to be cut off the cob.----some nice clean corn and quite tasty!!
We put a LOT in one of the freezers, (we have 3, plus 1 small one, then the 2 fridge's that have top freezers), so we are packin' in everything we can getting ready for bad winter.
This RR corn has me convinced that it's good stuff!! thanks; sonny

Nice looking sweet corn.
Problem is more than likely raccoons. Once they find a sweet corn patch, they can decimate it over night.
Back when, living in west central Iowa, the raccoons would come out of the town's storm water sewers and visit the gardens. Other folks have chained dogs in the middle of the sweet corn patch or put in lights to fend off the raccoons. Most attempts didn't work very well.

I have an excuse. CRS.

No coon tracks in the dust,---- ONLY coyote tracks, --- they will kill coons, so they don't come around anymore! and the coyotes have destroyed our melons before.---It's dark out there so seeing them to shoot is out and they barge right in, but in a quiet way so it's hard to get a shot.--- last night they grabbed another of my nice cats,-- has not been a good year!!!
Today we made 4 gallons of sweet pickles, 3 quarts of pickled sweet corn,( sweet corn tastes pretty good too , used the sweet syrup same as for the pickles), and started up a 5 gallon crock of dills!
The sauerkraut is in the third week of slow cool fermenting and lookin' good ,--so far! thanks; sonny

Just now getting around to re-sizing these pix. of some of our sweet potato harvest.--- Had to figure out a WAY different method to dig than by hand,--- SOOO --- this was my solution and it did work!!---Neighbors kinda scratched their heads when they saw us doing the big dig!!
Pumpkin and squash did well but no pix. of them, kinda a rush on harvest this year! thanks; sonny
