Cub Weight

Postby dbscars2 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 12:30 am

Just bought a 1949 Cub to teach my son about restorations. Curious if anyone knows the weight with the Farmall mower deck attached? Want to make sure he has enough trailer for hauling it.

Thanks,
David

I’d say less than 2,000 pounds depending on front and rear wheel weights and if the rear tires are loaded or not.

It will depend on what other equipment the Cub has (wheel weights, touch control, etc.)

My 1948 with the electrical system, touch control, rear rock shaft, full tank of fuel and one set of rear weights weighs 1,702 lbs.

Since you are asking about what trailer size to haul a Cub with mower deck.

Trailer capable of hauling 3000 to 4000 lbs.. Tractor with mower won't weigh that much, probably in the 2000 lb. range as previously suggested.
I have an excuse. CRS.

IIRC: A few years back at a local tractor pull / show, I scaled my '47 Cub with hydraulics and rear wheel weights at just under 2000 lbs. I always round it up to 2K to be safe.

As Eugene stated, a trailer capable of hauling 3K-4K will more than suffice for your Cub with mower deck. As a teaching example, though, I understand wanting to know the exact amount for your son.
