Locally there is a 1450 Cub Cadet listed on Craigslist for $350-. Appears complete with original engine.
Opinions wanted on the 1450. And will a 16 HP Kohler engine fit in case the engine is junk? I have a 16 HP Kohler sitting on the shelf.
Reason I'm interested. Wife likes to mow but will only use tractors with automatic/hydrostatic transmissions.

Re: 1450 Cub Cadet
Lyle,
I've had a 1450 for over 25+ years. It is a tank! No problems other than normal maintenance. I mow my lawn two or three times a week.

Re: 1450 Cub Cadet
What Bill said. As to the 16hp Kohler, my guess is that if the 16hp Kohler came out of a 1650 Cub Cadet, built in the same time frame as the 1450, it should swap with no modifications.
