Serial tag??
Where is the serial number tag supposed to be on a CC 100??
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

There is no tag on a 100. The chassis serial number can be in one of two places depending on if it is a early model 100 or a later model. It is stamped into either the right side of the gear reduction housing (bolted to the front of the transmission) in a vertical line with the numbers about 3/16" high, or it will be on the raised, squarish, boss on the right side of the transmission just aft of the gear reduction housing, in a horizontial line with numbers 1/8" high. You may have to clean off some dirt/paint to see the numbers because they are sometimes rather lightly stamped. The rasied, cast numbers you see on the case are part numbers and other casting numbers, and not the serial number. Serial number tags came into use with the next model series of Cub Cadets.
