Farmall Cub

I have been looking for a double coil for my twin Kohler. They are expensive. I have had a Harley that has the same coil I believe that a Kohler does. They do look alike. Wondering if anybody has checked this out . Harley coils seem to go for less on Ebay. I think that is on account of the amount of guys that want a more powerful coil. What does everybody here think? I don't know and would guess not work due to the different number of coils available for firing two cylinders.

Suggest research. Look up the part numbers for the Kohler and Harley coils. Then look in the section describing the application for each coil. If the application matches, same coil.

Manufacturers frequently use standard parts. But, just to confuse customers, change the parts numbers.

Here's what's probably a dumb idea. Why not get a standard high output coil and splice two plug wires into it?

It would throw one spark at the path of least resistance, which would always be the plug that is not under compression at the time.

You might be able to connect 2 conventional coils in parallel.

I bought a coil for a twin Kohler off ebay, and I don't think it was that bad, maybe $50 - $60? Seems like I had to put the boots off the old one, as the HT leads were bare....

Now that's a good idea. Especially if you a couple good spare coils laying around.

Down load the service manual for your engine. The trouble shooting or ignition section should have the desired information.
