Need steering box for my '63 mod 70

Yep it's the one in my profile, I started her up for triming today it felt a little funny at first....sorta loose...then alot loose!! I guess it had a small crack in the aluminum housing that spilt it open!! I love this little mower,if any of you have ,or know of one,Please send me a message.
Do any other models cross over? Or does it have to be from a 1963 70?

70, 71, 72, 100 102,122,123 all use the same one. Anothet thing to consider is all the steering boxes except the original, are the same, but he shaft and the tube lengths are different. If you can't find the correct, use any you can get and use your shaft w/worm gear and outer tube.

Thank's for the info Paul, I did find a new one,a little steep at $295,but I think I will wait and see if any turn up.It is nice to see we can get even "new" replacement part's when we need them!

Found 2 steering boxes on E-pay, one in PA & one in OH from the 1x4-5 series but like paul said you will have t use yourtobe & worm gear.

Unscrew the large plug in the bottom of the steering box, remove the lower bearings and race, remove the cam follower or the side plate with the cam follower in it, and the worm and shaft, along with the upper bearings and race, should come out the bottom of the box. The tube is a press fit into the steering box.

I finally got around to the repair today,a little heat on the tube ,and quickly swap it withthe 70's while it was still warm, It's back together,and my trim mower is back in buisness! Thank You Guy's for your help!
