1968 125?

Postby RedNed » Thu May 26, 2005 8:25 pm

I have a serious problem.A couple of days ago on my lunch break from work. I spoted a cub cadet on the front lawn of someones house near the street. The cub was intact and had a a very big mower deck on it. Lights,The paint was not good, yellow white chips flaking off. Looked like a Hydro.........Stopped the truck got out and rang the front door with my friend.....Dogs barking....Lady comes out..I ask her if the tractor is for sale or is she just getting rid of it. She said her son tried to start it but it would not start this spring. She said it ran last year. She also said that I could just have it .Please just take away.I said ok. My friend and I looked at each other and I had this  grin on my face. Now was the hard part,to get this in the dodge ram pickup.Just at the right moment my friends at work were coming back from lunch. I needed 6 guys to lift this tractor up.I got it back to the shop.It took me a half hour to get it started, battery dead and points corroded.Looks to me like a 125 hydro from Ken's book.A wopping 48" mower deck(heavy too.) S/N 259246 .Will post some pics if I get the chance.Did not tell wife.I am working on a 350 utility now and only have two hands.Oh I have a serious problem..........

Hey RedNed,
You have to tell her it's for her, That's how I got my 70, so she could use it where I cant mow with the Cub, also for her to use with the trailer in the garden, She likes it so much get this, she and her mom went to garage sale day at the neighboring town ,she call's me from her cell ,tell's me she found a Cub Cadet 125 hydro,"48 deck, single bottom plow, cultivators, QA 42....she haggled the guy down to $450 for all ,the guy gave us the sales reciept from '68 ,brochures ,manuals...It was a good day for me.
