Last fall I bought a Cub Cadet 129, a 1200, two mower decks, a blade, and a #2 rototiller. The 129 started and ran but had carburetor problems. All of this stuff sat under my carport last winter.
This spring I did put the #2 rototiller on my CC124 and tilled up a corn patch. Yesterday I put the CC129 in the shop and disassembled the carburetor to see what the problem was. Everything looked good, and someone must have cleaned it recently. What I found was the float had gas in it. Upon close examination I found a tiny crack in the brass float. After draining the float I put a dab of JB Weld in the crack and adjusted the float level. I had bought a NAPA 7-02024 carb kit, but didn't use anything from it. That will get the CC1200 running, so I thought. Once the JB Weld had cured I reassembled the carb and put it on the Cadet. After learning how to adjust the carb I got it running good enough to install the mower deck and try it out.
I have wanted a hydrostatic Cadet for a long time. I was totally amazed about how well it worked and found it was a lot easier to control in confined areas of the yard. It was almost dark when I tested it on the tall lawn in our back yard, so the true shakedown cruise will happen today.
BTW, when I removed the engine cover side panels I discovered the CC1200 came without a carburetor. Does anyone have one for sale, either a working carb or a usable core? The plan is to use the CC1200 as a dedicated rototilling Cadet.

Good to hear you got it running but I'm wondering if the JB Weld will hold up to gas?
Congrats

It's running, but not running well. I have to check and see what's up with that. It barely ran when we bought it, and it's going to take some time to get it straightened out. I sure like that hydrostatic drive.
I looked at the float this afternoon and it the JB is working just fine.

Be careful of the JB weld. I tried it with a float on my Farmall Cub, and over a long period of time it turned soft and got into the jets.
Just a FYI
Though trillions and trillions of eyes have been watching the skies for as long as human memory exists, no gods nor angels have been seen or documented outside of religion. The number of spaceships being sighted however has become much more prevalent.

Thanks for the info. I think I will order a new float and retire my patched float ASAP.
