My first Cadet-brought Home a 108

Postby ToddW » Sun Mar 18, 2012 4:03 pm

Been kicking around which cadet to finally pull the trigger on. And it was this one.
I'm the 3rd owner, and have the sales receipt from 1985 bought by the owner who sold it to me.
He paid $1395.00 for it in 1985

Comes with the IH snow thrower, chains, and wide mower deck. The price was so crazy cheap I could not let this go once I got it to run and drove it out of the guys barn.

I can't wait to see the pictures. I sure am proud of my 108. One of the first "wide frames" if I understand correctly?

Does it have the creeper tranny too? The 108 is the first "long hood" cub cadet i have too. My next "long hood" cub cadet is the 1200. These seem so much bigger with the long hood over the 122/104/100/70 cub cadets.

I been buying up the 1'' front spindles and rims (these use the int154 front wheel bearings) on the cub cadet. I'm changing over my 108's, i already did my 1200.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Did not have a creeper gear with this tractor. I have been trying to get one for it. Head lights, rear lift as well.

My first cub cadet 108 has the creeper and a 42'' mower deck. I put the 26'' - 1200-12 turf tires on the rear and the 18''-950-8'' turf tires on the front. The cadet looks like it will float with the bigger tires on it. This 108 is my back up for my cadet 100 with the creeper/ tiller should it crap out i can switch it all to the 108. But the 100cc tills the garden every spring and fall and just refuses to quit so far. Seafoam saved it.

The wide frames are a tad easier to work on too. I can remove the drive shaft and clutch thru the engine area to service it.

Did you know that a cricket can make that chirp, chirp, chirp sound by rubbing it's hind legs together?

Beaware these little guys can be habit forming too. I suggest keeping the males and females seperate because they can multiply faster than rabbits at least mine do..... :{_}:
