Ive been offered to buy a CC 104 from original owner it runs and looks pretty good comes with a mower deck and snow blower and creeper gear all in all its a nice original 104 even the tires are original, the bad is its loose all over from 41 years of lawn mowing its still runs but shes tired also its stuck in reverse the shift lever came completely out of the tranny,,,,,,, any advice on the shift lever or what to offer the seller for it?

The shift shouldn't be hard to fix. Check out George Willer's fix on the manual site. As to value - if it's worn out from years of use probably not a lot.

I have no idea as to what offer to make on the 104. Price range in this area is $50- for a complete parts CC, to $400- or so for one in good working condition. The upper price would be for the tractor with mower deck. Snow blower would be extra.

Thinking, I would try to research the snow blower, find the model, condition, and some prices. The snow blower is what I would base my offer on.

Kind of a word of caution. Price of repair parts has jumped considerably in the past couple of years. One could easily get more money involved in repairs than the tractor would reasonably sell for.

Thanks Eugene , I don't want to insult the owner by offering too low but the CC is a 100- 50 dollar unit to me I hope he speaks his mind first..

This is a pretty CC always garaged and washed and waxed, the snow blower might as well be new since he said it was not as good as a walk behind so he used it very little if any at all, all things considered I think he could get more than I have in mind but still its a 100 -50 dollars worth to me only cause it will be one more project on the project heap , too many projects here...

Hi Jack

I have a 125 and it throws snow great with the QA-42 I have.

I've rebuilt the engine in my 125 and also the one in my 122 and they're running great. My 122 was worked hard but still works well.

Hey Jeff nice pic :big afro: , yeah the owner of the CC that I might get dis liked the snow blower only cause he wanted a screen or cab for protection from blowing snow so instead of using the CC snow blower he bought a walk behind with a screen. If I get this Cub its going to mow the lawn and pull a trailer and the SB will be up for sale.

As a fellow motorcyclist, you're going to love this suggestion.

Just wear your helmet when you clear snow. Rain X on the shield and it works great. I don't care what it looks like since it works so well.
