Disc brake lining

I read big bills post on glue and bonding of brake lining to old disc.
Where can I get the lining material to make new disc lining for my cub cadet?
Messick can get a kit for $116.00 do I have anyother choose?

I buy it from McMaster-Carr. They have it in different widths and thickness, and is sold by the foot. I buy 3/16" thick X 3" wide x 1 ft. long, P/N 6175K119, and it is now $7.31 a foot. That will make pads for more than 1 Cub Cadet. The 3/16" is a little thick and will have to be thinned down to fit, but that is the thinnest they have unless you want to buy large sheets.

Up date, I install my new dics brake pads and all is great! EASY and CHEEP good way to get your brakes done. oldiron29

There ya go for the cost of the lining and the glue you gotter done...

Now i need to figure how to stop when my trailer has around 1/3rd cord of firewood in it. I have an extra axle with 12 volt electric brakes maybe i'll try that in a new dump trailer. I do throttle it back but i'm used to having good brakes in my car and truck. These older tractors just don't have good brakes. I don't really need brakes but i worry when my kids drive them. I wonder how small hydraulic calipers would work on the cc discs?

I never had brakes on my jeep tractor for many years but i never left the property and when i wanted to stop i dropped the plow.
