Cub Cadet Grill ID

Postby Chris Todd » Mon Mar 01, 2004 7:54 pm

Hi All,
I got a couple of grills at an auction this weekend and am not sure what I have. They were in original boxs with instruction sheets. Paperwork said Grille Improvement package (8 007 756 r91) for International Cub Cadet 482, 582, 582 Special, 682, 782, and 982 Tractors. After looking at paperwork I think I have the original grills that were replaced by an improved? grill with no screen? Wondered if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks in advance,

Same here! I could use one for my 782. If you're interested in selling them.

Thanks for the replys Mark and Bigdog. I would sell them to you but!! :( The wife is selling them on Ebay. That was one of the stipulations of going to the auction that anything we bought SHE was going to auction. Sometimes wish I hadn't introduced her to it. It is like Home Shopping Network to her  If something changes I will let you know.
Thanks Guys,
Chris

Chris:, When your wife puts them on eBay it would be nice if you would post the auction number or page hot-link to auction so your Cub buddies here on the board would have a shot at getting one.

Those grills can usually be found in pretty good shape and a lot of times in a box.
They were original style grills for the 82 series tractor. They were recalled and replaced with ones that had no screen and extra bars (painted black) to fill the gaps. The screens would fill with debris and reduce the airflow across the engine and cause overheating.
So when the dealers got new grills they put the old ones in the box and threw them on a shelf someplace, maybe they were supposed to send them back and never did.
I've found quite a few of them at old dealers, sold em all.
