The BBT showed up today

Postby BigBill » Thu Apr 05, 2007 4:54 am

The big brown truck showed up today with two 70lb packages. My two 154 finals have arrived. He had my 154 front axle assembly too. I figure to widen the cub cadets foot print too(stability). I been thinking about an extended subframe in the front for the front axle to sit ahead of the grill frame. With the finals tipped towards the rear its a little longer plus a little wider. I don't want to go too high so i may use 31"- 12:50-15's AG tires in the rear with 20"-8:50-10" tires in the front. I'll have to adjust the front axle height so it sits level too. I'm going to run the subframe from the front to the rear so the front loader and backhoe will have a good support too. I think my cub cadet 100 is going to be my project tractor. I'm going to remove the creeper and put it in my 70 and put the 70 tranny in my 100 were the creeper isn't needed because of the finals. I have to plan out the hydraulics next. I think its starting to sound good so far what do you think?

I picked up the 154 brake/clutch setup too. I also have the 5 lug front hubs and the steering gear. I want a tractor inbetween a 154 and a cub cadet in size with a front loader/backhoe that won't cost me 15K or 20K.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Did you know the finals on a 154 weigh about 80lbs? I guess I got old but when the UPS driver showed up with them they were pretty heavy. Thank god they didn't go usps my mail lady was complaining about how heavy the tranny gear sets were.
