cadet 100 mower to a cadet 106?
I have a model 70 cub cadet that has a 100 mower on it. I want to install the 100 mower on the 106. They are both narrow frames so is there any trouble switching the mower? If i can do this then my model 70 can be finished with the proper fenders and used to show and pull at garden tractor pulls in our club.any info is greatley appreciated thanks

It sounds like you have a 42" Cast Iron deck. Was there a deck on the 106 and are the front drive pulleys on the 106. There are about 6 different hitch adapters available to adapt different decks but I can't tell which one you really need to get this done. all that information is in the CPE-2 implement parts book. I have a 38" CI deck on my 73 which was able to adapt using 73 hitch adapter(the deck is hard to put on & off but I leave the deck on all the time). If toy contact Ray Weaver(he should have the parts you need) Ray Weaver <rmweaver@dejazzd.com>, 717-587-3727 he should have the correct adapter. He will have to know what you have on the 106 and if that is a 42" CI deck.

Today I did switch the mower to the 106 from the model 70. It originally came off a 100. It is a cast iron 42" mower. I had to fudge things a bit to make it fit the 106. The 106 has a fast coupler for the mule drive on the front. the mule drive from the 100 wouldnt fit with the couplers. so i cut them off. everything fit good. I cut 2 acres with it today. it works well. I saved the couplers incase i would want to reinstall them in the future. Thanks for your help.

Hi Clark: Glad to hear you got the deck on the 106. If you got the deck leveled they are one of the best cutting decks. They put the 38 or 42 CI decks on both the 70 & 100s. The 7 HP can handle the 42" deck as long as the grass isn't to high.

The 70 handles the 42" deck well even in high grass. The 70 is completely restored and I didnt intend to use it to cut grass. I wanted to use in in the tractor pull at the tractor club pulls. Now I have the 106 with the mower. it seems to have a higher ground speed in 2nd than the 70. The extra 3 HP is handy also.
